Optic Flow Induces Nonvisual Self-Motion Aftereffects

Article by Luigi Cuturi and Paul R. MacNeilage in Current Biology 2014

24.11.2014

GSN PhD student Luigi Cuturi and Dr. Paul MacNeilage's (German Center for Vertigo in Munich) have shown that virtual optical stimuli can lead to aftereffects that significantly alter our perception of self-motion. This finding has implications for safe use of emerging technologies such as virtual-reality headsets.

The article "Optic Flow Induces Nonvisual Self-Motion Aftereffects" is now available online in Current Biology.
