PhD student in Retina Research

The group “Retinal Plasticity” offers a PhD position at the LMU Munich, Germany

06.03.2019

A major focus of the Koch group is retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a retinal degenerative disease and the most common cause of hereditary blindness. The group study retinal remodeling in healthy, diseased and rescued retinas, using a combination of immunohistochemical, electrophysiological and behavioral approaches.

The PhD candidate will analyze the structural and functional remodeling in RP retinas. The project will involve large scale quantifications to identify candidate disease molecules and design of vision rescue strategies. The project requires strong interest in retinal degeneration and computation, expertise in the analysis of mouse models and passion for scientific work.
