The Clinical Neuropsychology lab at the LMU is looking for a Phd student

Open PhD student position at Clinical Neuropsychology lab at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany


Open PhD student position (13 TV-L, 65%) in the framework of the project „Space and action: The different meanings and uses of active perception” of the DFG-research group „Active Perception“ at Clinical Neuropsychology lab at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany, starting 1 July 2020 (flexible: also an earlier or a later starting date is possible).

The topic of the project is visual perception in neglect patients and healthy participants in ambiguous perceptual situations (e.g., binocular rivalry). Furthermore, a treatment option for neglect will be tested.

Prerequisites

  •  Due to patient testing, at least a B2 level of German is necessary.
  •  Master‘s degree in psychology, biology, computer science or related fields
  •  Interest in the application of neuroscientific methods (Eyetracking, EEG, TMS)
  •  Interest in neuropsychological hypotheses and experimental work (involving patients)
  •  Programming experience advantageous (e.g. Matlab or Python)

The team consists of three PostDocs and nine PhD Students with different backgrounds. A neuropsychological outpatient clinic is attached to our research unit. Research topics include visuomotor processing, visual perception, attention, agnosias, hemianopia and spatial neglect. The psychology department is centrally located in Munich and can be easily reached with public transportation. Munich is an attractive city often rated as one of the best cities to live in and located only one hour away from the German Alps.
