Staff scientist position in Neuroscience for the investigation of the function of neurons and their synapses in the mammalian retina (for details see: http://www.tierphys.nat.uni-erlangen.de).
The ideal candidate will be a team spirited, highly motivated, curious, and creative young scientist who has received a PhD/doctorate in the field of Neuroscience or a related field with a solid background in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or physiology. Being fluent in German is considered an advantage and the acquisition of external funding is expected.
3-year contract with the option for renewal, a stimulating scientific environment and modern, well-equipped research laboratories. Participation in teaching in the Biology Bachelor/Master program is required and to pursue the academic degree of “Habilitation” is encouraged. The position is immediately available.
